Frequently Asked Questions

  • When I took the heat pack out of the packaging it was hard. Is it broken?

    No. The heat pack was likely activated during shipping. Simply follow the “How to Reuse” instructions on the packaging to reset.

  • My heat pack won’t reset. Is it broken?

    Chances are the heat pack was not boiled long enough. In order to activate the heat pack it must be in a completely liquid state. Follow the “How to Reuse” instructions on the packaging and if necessary, boil for an addition minute or two.

  • I clicked the disc but the heat pack didn’t activate. Is it broken?

    No. Be sure that there is liquid touching the metal disc while you are bending it. You may need to bend the disc back and forth a couple of times. Don’t worry – you wont break it!

  • Is the heat pack toxic?

    No. The Amazing Heat Pack™ contains a solution that is completely non-toxic. You are completely safe in the unlikely event that the heat pack gets punctured or the seam splits. Be sure to dispose of the heat pack if the vinyl shows any signs of leaking.

  • My dog/child punctured the heat pack. What should I do?

    If the heat pack gets punctured it must be disposed of in the garbage and replaced. Be sure that the metal disc is located as it is a potential choking hazard for pets and small children.

  • Can the heat pack be used as an ice pack?

    No. The solution in the heat pack may expand too much and cause the seam to split.

  • Can I put the heat pack in the microwave to reset?

    No. The heat pack will explode if heated in the microwave.

  • I boiled my heat pack but it crystallizes when I take it out. Is it broken?

    No. Chances are the heat pack was not boiled long enough. If crystals are present at any time, the heat pack will not activate. You must boil the heat pack until there are no crystals. Follow the “How to Reuse” instructions on the packaging and if necessary, boil for an addition minute or two.

  • My heat pack was accidentally punctured. Can it still be used?

    No. It must be disposed of in the garbage and replaced.

  • Can I damage my heat pack when boiling?

    It is possible to damage the heat pack if you don’t follow reuse instructions provided on packaging. Be sure that the pot never boils dry while the heat pack is being reset. To ensure this doesn’t happen you should never leave the heat pack unattended while boiling. Also, never use a sharp utensil to immerse and remove heat pack from boiling water as it may puncture the vinyl. Always use extreme care when resetting the heat pack.
